|Abstract Editing||$95 for detailed editing of your abstract, including word count reduction, up to 10% of the original word count to meet journal guidelines|
The completed manuscript you receive from AJE’s Editing services is covered by our editing guarantee. We guarantee that if you are not satisfied with the editing of your manuscript or if a journal mentions English language errors, we will re-edit your document for free.
For Standard Editing, material added to your paper after our editors work on your manuscript is not included in this guarantee. For this reason, we recommend that you send us your final draft when you make a new order. If you need to add content or make substantial changes after receiving comments from the journal editor or reviewers, you may resubmit your paper for a re-edit at a $40 discount.
Our Premium Editing service provides more robust editing support designed for customers seeking a greater degree of assistance with their manuscript. We will continue to re-edit your document for free until it has been published.
If a journal mentions English as a problem in a manuscript that we edited, we want to know. Please contact us with the file that you sent to the journal and all the comments from the journal. We will reply with a solution within 1 business day.
If you are unsatisfied with our editing, we will work with you until you are satisfied. Please provide one or two specific examples or a few details about what is unsatisfactory.
Who are your editors?
Our editors have or are currently completing a Masters, Ph.D. or M.D. degree from one of the top research universities in the U.S. They are all native English speakers and must meet rigorous selection standards.
What is the AJE Editing Certificate?
AJE will provide a certificate confirming that your paper was edited by AJE. Assuming that any changes we proposed are incorporated into the manuscript, the certificate guarantees that the English quality of your manuscript is appropriate for journal submission. The certificate will allow journal editors to feel confident that the English language in your paper has been reviewed and verified. This certificate is limited to documents that are deemed the highest-quality AJE submissions (documents whose English quality has reached a level appropriate for publication). Every translation paper is eligible for a certificate. If your paper does not earn a certificate after translation and one round of editing, we will be happy to work with you to improve the language until the paper does qualify for a certificate.
What are the differences between Standard and Premium Editing services?
Standard Editing is performed by one subject-area expert editor. Any spelling, grammar, punctuation, or word usage errors will be corrected, but we will not try to improve the flow of your paper as we would a Premium submission. All Standard submissions are eligible (but not guaranteed) to earn an Editing Certificate. With Standard Editing, you can receive a discount on a re-edit for any revisions.
With Premium Editing, we will correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and word use errors, and we will improve sentences that sound awkward or unnatural. We may point out portions of the document that require rewriting by the authors, such as passages that are vague, confusing, or incomplete. We will also provide you with a letter that addresses the most important areas of concern in your paper. This letter highlights the types of changes your editor made and helps to explain why these changes were made. Premium Editing also includes the support of an AJE Research Communication Partner who can provide you with personal assistance and answer any questions that arise during the process. Because Premium Editing is so thorough, we guarantee that Premium papers will receive an Editing Certificate. Furthermore, we will provide you with unlimited free re-edits until your paper is published. Overall, Premium Editing provides more robust editing support and is designed for customers who are seeking more comprehensive assistance with their manuscript.
