AJE Delivers Educational Workshops for Research Authors in Brazil

In Q2 2019, AJE hosted a series of workshops at top institutions in Brazil. The four workshops were delivered by senior-level AJE Academic Editor, Dr. Peter Marbais, PhD, at Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA), Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA), Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB), and Instituto Tecnológico Vale (ITV). The topics were centered around manuscript preparation and how to improve your academic writing in English.

“AJE was honored to deliver workshops at such prestigious institutions in Brazil,” said Flávia Jaszczak, AJE Global Accounts Manager. “We had close to 500 attendees across 4 different states, and we learned a lot about our Brazilian customers’ pain points. Learning about our customers enables us to develop resources and services that will assist them in their quest to improve their publication profile.”

In an effort to support researchers during the publication process, AJE regularly presents educational material at institutions and conferences around the world. The AJE team has been to Brazil multiple times in the past to host similar events.

The participants benefited greatly from the presentations. Luana Rodrigues of the Vice-Rectory of Research office at UFPB stated, “It was a pleasure to have AJE at the Federal University of Paraíba! We had an enriching morning with an exchange of experiences between our researchers and AJE where both the feedback regarding the services provided by AJE and the excellent lecture by Dr. Marbais (“Writing a Better Manuscript: Tips for Publication Success”) can be highlighted. It was certainly a time for strengthening the relationship between us and AJE and for broadening our knowledge as researchers.”

“Working closely with AJE is important to the University of Lavras (UFLA), as the quality of AJE services enablesallows that the quality research produced by our institution to beis published in the best journals inof the world. This contributes to science development in several areas of knowledge. We have been very happy with the quality of the translations and language editing services. Another important joint action between UFLA and AJE was the first1st “Workshop of Scientific Publication - AJE”. During the event, we discussed several key points that significantly affect scientific communication, such as: techniques to improve writing;, tips on how to obtain success in publication, how to choose the right journal, among others. The event was open to the UFLA academic community, and the results were excellent,” said Márcio Machado Ladeira, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies at UFLA.
